Found a decent article on FantasySharks.com analyzing winning strategy by draft position in a Snake Draft. Although a football based article it rates success of draft position as follows:

Draft Position: 1 Success % of winning 3rd
2 1st
3 7th
4 4th
5 8th
6 5th
7 6th
8 2nd
9 10th
10 9th
Found it a bit revealing, as I always enjoyed the latter positions to enable back to back picks. The 8th spot is intriqing. 2nd spot seems to be the best.
