2 Teams in NL-BP-Indy: up to 40 keepers, instant XO eligibility, & chatroom drafts!

Due to lockout-related departures, we unexpectedly have two openings in NL-BP-Indy for our 20th anniversary season.

Highlights of our rather unique rule set include allowing teams to keep up to 40 players each spring, crossover eligiblity for drafts as soon as players join the NL, and all five annual drafts conducted via live chatroom.

Here's more of what we offer:
1) A live spring chatroom draft on April 2nd @ 2pE. We draft 40 rounds in the spring and use a soft keeper system, where teams can keep anywhere from 0-40 (with unlimited XOs, though no more than 35 veterans). Beginning last year, we let teams to give up any unwanted supplemental picks for rookie keeper slots the following years, and both of the departing owners repeatedly took advantage of this option: one team has 4 bonus rookie keeper slots, and the other has FIFTEEN (and therefore could leave the draft with 55 players).

Beginning this year we also allow teams with fewer than 14 kept veterans to slot "sophomores" in Rds 14, 15, etc. Currently, sophomore eligibility only covers players with no more than 260 AB or 100 IP, but beginning next year, it will include everyone who exceeds standard AB/IP rookie eligibility in the preceding season.

2) Player pool eligibility for drafts not only includes unowned guys on the NL Scoresheet list but ALL players affiliated with each NL team prior to the draft. That means guys like Matt Olson & Chris Bassitt WILL be eligible, as will any other unowned players traded to or signed by an NL team before 3/27. For the spring draft, EVERYONE owned at the end of the previous season also will be eligible for selection, though guys now in the AL will lose eligibility after the spring drafts unless they return to the NL.

3) During the season, we hold four live chatroom supp. drafts of 3 rounds each, currently scheduled five weeks apart on Thursday evenings (5/5, 6/9, 7/14, & 8/18 this year). As you would expect, the post-trade deadline supp. draft always adds a bunch of interesting talent to the league, with guys like Nick Madrigal, Mike Clevinger, & Manny Machado all going to rebuilding teams soon after their trades into the NL.

4) Beginning this year, we also voted to add a second wild card team for a play-in series to see who advances to the division series, so despite the somewhat limited number of quality veterans in the dispersal draft, opportunities definitely exist for a savvy owner to challenge for a playoff spot this year, as even the best teams from last year now have obvious pitching/injury-related weaknesses.

Teams 8 & 11 are available: [www.scoresheet.com]

Team 11 cut down to land Mookie Betts successfully two years ago, returned to a 74-win season in 2021, and possesses an intriguing group of veterans. However, the upside play might involve trading/cutting all veterans except Betts, which should guarantee you both Matt Olson & Seiya Suzuki in the spring draft, giving you as strong a lineup core as almost any team in the league (and anyone cut, including free agents or now-AL guys like Jon Gray & JBJ, still can be redrafted in the spring). T11 also owns both an extra post-trade deadline 1st rd supp. pick and four extra rookie keeper slots for Top 100 prospects like Tucker Davidson, Ronnie Mauricio, & Garrett Mitchell, which means you'll enjoy every chance to build your roster around Betts with exactly the players you want.

Team 8, meanwhile, appears set to exit a massive rebuild rather gracefully. While they only won 25 games in 2021 while stockpiling prospects and picks, the roster features new Rockie Kris Bryant, MIA near-ROY Trevor Rogers, and 29 rookies, including about a dozen Top 100 prospects like Francisco Alvarez, Jose Barrero, Nolan Gorman, Nick Gonzales, Jordan Lawler, Miguel Vargas, Daniel Cartaya, Cade Cavalli, Matt Liberatore, & many, many more. Plus, thanks to those 15 rookie keeper slots, even if you keep all 29 rookies, sophomore Ryan Weathers, and Bryant & Rogers, that still leaves you 23 spring draft picks to help you field a much more competitive team this season.

Maybe neither of these teams makes the playoffs this season, but both team also will have 12 picks in 4 supp. drafts to add talent and/or extra keeper slots to prime your roster for a 2023 run.

We know there's a tight time window here, with keepers due next Saturday night (3/26). However, if this sounds interesting, please contact mindread at rotohelp dot com for more info and check out our constitution for more details here: [rotohelp.com]

If not, please feel free to forward this invitation if you know anyone you now who might be interested in building a true franchise in Scoresheet, where you even possess sufficient keeper spots to keep your entire bullpen from year to year if desired.
