Contract Leagues are the ULTIMATE in fantasy baseball. If you're really into MiLB, these leagues are for you! Here are some URL's (from the NCML) & other dope on what these 2 leagues offer. The NCML 2 is an exact clone of the NCML. We had so many people we had to turn away last year that we're going to start a whole new league. John Cassielo will Commish both of them & will not be an owner in either. If you're interested, let me know, since I'm handling the recruiting, end of things.

The advantage to the NCML, would be, it's one year ahead of the NCML 2, therefore you would see better FA sooner.

The advantage to joining the NCML 2, would be, you get to draft from scratch & could even get the #1 pick.

The new league is a Scoresheet League. This will be the main aspects of the league, but it will be very involved with a ton of new twists.

* If you'd like a real challenge, are interested in building a franchise (rather than just a team) & are really into MiLB, the NCML is for you.

* It will be a contract league, with 45 years to doll out (40 years for the NCML 2) to your players.

* 40 Man Rosters.

* 8 teams will make the playoffs. 4 division winners & 4 wild cards.

* We will have a bi-weekly waiver wire. There will not be any supplemental drafts, like most SS leagues.

* The NCML 2 (ONLY), We will run a 15 player MiLB draft, before the MLB, 40 round draft.

* We would hold a yearly 4 round amateur draft, for both leagues, sometime.after the season is over. In that way the owners know if the amateurs actually signed and after they've played awhile. In that way you can have some idea just what you're drafting.

* You will be able to keep 15 MiLB players on the farm. There will be no penalties levied for keeping MiLB players. No loss of draft picks or anything else. They will be yours to trade or keep and develop. The only stipulation will be, before the draft next year, if you currently have more than 15, you'd have to drop some to get back down to 15.

* Once your MiLB players join your roster and lose there rookie status, after a certain amount of IP or AB, they will be yours for 3 more years. You would have to sign them to a contract before their 3rd year kicked in, or lose them to free agency, at the conclusion of the 3rd year. With this rule, you'd have a fairly good idea, whether or not they would be worth signing to a contract.

* Every owner can have 1 franchise player. Franchise players are yours to keep and are completely free. The contracts they are signed to, DO NOT count against the allotted years, which gives you more years to doll out to other players. You may sign them twice, to maximum 6 year contracts, which means the longest you can keep a franchise player is 12 years. Your best player costs you nothing.

* The contracts, per player, are limited to a maximum of 6 years. However the more players you give a 6 year contract to, the less you have for other players. This will be a thinking mans league.

* Of course you will be able to make all sorts of trades, but will have to take into consideration, the # of years left on the contracts of the players you're trading for and receiving. You can also trade your Franchise player.

* The roster limit will be kept @ 40 players. Which means, if you make a lopsided trade, you would either need to add/drop players before the games start, the following week.

* With 20 owners and all of the Major & MiLB players being kept, there wouldn't be much to pick from at the beginning of year 2. Going into the 3rd year it would be a better draft and after the 3rd year, it would be amazing, with a lot of players being signed to 3 year contracts, becoming FA. You will see players becoming available , you would never see in a normal SS league, as the contracts started expiring. In years 4, 5, & 6, etc., it just gets better & better.

* Oh! By the way, all American & National League players would be available. I would never be in anything but a BL format.

I really hope this interests you. I'll be looking forward to your reply. If you do decide to join either league, I will send you our constitution.

P.S. There are currently 5 orphaned teams available, which will be filled on a first come, first served basis. There are some really good teams available. Some of them even made our playoffs.
