A currently 8-team continuing NL-only league (P-NL201, over 20 years old!) recently had an exodus of 4 owners (teams 4, 5, 7, & 8 available). This is a perfect opportunity for someone new to bring a few friends together into a fun existing league with some unique rules:
- Owners can protect anywhere between 4 and 8 players, with a "pre-draft" for teams keeping less than the maximum.
- Team can also protect up to 5 minor leaguers.
- Free agents players signed to the AL can be protected and used as a pick before the main draft begins
- Three supplemental drafts, including one coordinated with the minor league draft.
- Any interleague trade allows the owner of the NL player(s) going to the AL the choice of keeping the player thru the end of the year OR taking the player(s) traded for.
