Just when I thought everything was settled and was putting things on cruise control for the offseason - an owner dropped out.
So I have an orphan team available. See roster below.
League is BL Daubert. Each team operates with a $100M salary cap with salaries determined via auctions. There is no set number of keepers. Keep as many or as few as you'd like.
The team is essentially locked into 4 players who are signed for 3 more seasons. These players are Joey Votto, Paul Goldschmidt, Adam Jones, and Chase Headley. The downside is that their combined salaries eat up just under 48% of the team's budget. Alexei Ramirez is also signed for $2M, but you could cut him and pay a $600K buyout if you'd prefer. Plus you have renewal options for 35 other players. The options carry a mandatory salary increase.
As an example, you could choose to keep Gerrit Cole and pay him $4M next season or you could release him to free agency. Your call.
You would have until the end of December to finalize your choices on those 35 options.
