We have two openings in NL Fear and Loathing, and both teams made the playoffs in 2025. Here are the interesting players on the orphan teams followed by the standard and league specific rules. If you are interested in either team, please send me an email: wjmcknight37@gmail.com

Both Orphan Teams made the playoffs in 2025. Here are some of their highlight players:
Team #5: Cristopher Sanchez, Logan Webb, Ketel Marte, Andrew Abbott, Trevor Rogers, Spencer Strider, Drake Baldwin, Josh Naylor, Andy Pages. Rookies w/ MLB PT: Roki Sasaki, Logan Henderson, Moises Ballesteros, Rookies no MLB experience: Tyler Sykora, Emil Morales, Josuar De Jesus Gonzales, Zyhir Hope

Team #9: Fernando Tatis Jr., Jackson Chourio, Manny Machado, Will Smith, Chris Sale, Hunter Greene, Nick Pivetta, Willy Adames, Sonny Gray, Jameson Taillon, Jake Cronenworth, Xander Bogaerts, Matt Shaw, Ian Happ. Rookies w/ MLB PT: Alex Freeland. Rookies no MLB experience: Alfredo Duno, Kayson Cunningham, Josue De Paula, Carson Benge, Slade Caldwell, Ethan Conrad

The league specific rules are designed to incentivize keeping teams competitive and preventing complete tear downs. Here are the rules:

We follow SS standard rules for the following:

1) Draft dates for preseason draft, supp drafts, protected lists, etc.
2) 13 regular keepers with 3 crossovers.

Key Differences:
1) Pick 14-1 does NOT go to the worst record. It goes to the team with the BEST record that does NOT make the playoffs. If 2 teams are tied, the first tie-break is better run differential, and the second tie break is better head-to-head record.
*This is only for round 14. The remaining rounds are reverse order of record. WS winner picks last.

2) Rookie Keeper Spots:
A. Maximum 5 minor leaguers with NO major league IP/AB. {prevents loading up on A ball players}
B. Unlimited number of minor leaguers WITH major league IP/AB {subject to SS p/t limits}
C. These are subject to "picks down" limitations discussed in the next rule

3) A team can NEVER be up/down more than 8 picks. NEVER does mean NEVER. Ex. A team protect 5 minor leaguers and has traded away 3 picks with zero acquired picks. That would put them down 8 picks. They may not trade away more picks nor protect more minor leaguers unless they acquire more picks. This applies both in the offseason and in-season. Any trades that violate the rule will be null and void, and the number of rookies allowed to be kept will be limited.

4) We will realign division assignments after every 4 seasons based on cumulative regular season record. The team with the best record will be #1. Second best record #2, etc. Worst record will be #12. Records 1,4,7,10 will be in div 1; Records 2,5,8,11 will be in div 2; Records 3,6,9,12 will be in division.
* We will retain our original team numbers in this process.
** The first realignment is scheduled for 2028
