Talk, Think and Play Fantasy Baseball all Winter long!

Dear Baseball Fan:

As described in the following pages, each winter we play a 12 week, 144 game season, using stats from a 4 year period. For this upcoming season (winter 2007/2008) we will be using players and their statistics from the years 1969 thru 1972.

This 'players-of-the-past' game emphasizes how well you put a team together, and truly tests your managerial talents. Since the stats are known to all team owners, it is the kind of team you draft, combined with how you choose to use your players, that will determine how well your team does. Will you go for sluggers like Hank Aaron and Johnny Bench, great fielders like Don Kessinger, or top pitchers such as Seaver and Carlton? Of course, you'd like to have them all, but since each player can only be on one team in each league, you'll have to choose who to put higher on your draft list.

We also feel a little memory aid would be useful. The drafting packet you will receive when you sign up for a team lists players by position, sorted accorded to at-bats or innings pitched in 1969-1972. There will also be a few stats included with each player, such as yearly batting average and home runs hit, at-bats or innings pitched, and ERA. Player's fielding numbers as used in Scoresheet Baseball will also be included, along with the positions players qualify at.

For many team owners the biggest thrill of playing the winter game is the chance to trade for such players as Palmer, Mays, Morgan, Fingers, Torre, Rose - the list goes on and on. Not only do you get to make blockbuster deals; you'll get to see how they turned out each week when you get your results. And because each player's statistics are already known, pennant races are usually hard fought (close!) in these winter leagues. Best of all - you won't have to go six long, cold months without fantasy baseball!

The fee for a winter team is $64, which is the complete cost for your team. In the off-season baseball game all trades and lineup change fees are included in the team fee-there are NO transaction charges during the season! You can choose to receive your results by either regular mail or e-mail, every league will have its own web page, and you will be able to view game reports on the web in a text based play by play format.

This winter game gives you the chance to once again enjoy great players of the past, to talk trades with other baseball fans, and to test out all of your baseball strategies during the long off-season ahead. If you'd like to reserve a spot in a league please return the enclosed order from, or sign up on our web site. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
