I'm the commissioner of the Shoeless Joe League. We're concluding our 21st year of play. One of the long-term owners, in fact one of the league founders, has decided that he needs to focus his attention elsewhere. We're sorry to lose him, but hopeful of finding a new owner who will remain with us for another 21 years.
We're a 16-team league that use players from both leagues, although we have an entry draft that limits our player pool to about 70 percent of all Major League players. (We also don't use the designated hitter, making us unique within Scoresheet's combined leagues.) We use 60-man rosters with a salary cap and player retention rules that mimic Major League ball in many respects. The league constitution can be found at [
sites.google.com], along with many other details about the league including rosters, past transactions, etc. The available team is #4, the Florida Panthers. The departing owner has agreed to provide guidance during the transition.
If you have questions or think you might be owner for which we're looking, please respond below or email me at davealden53atcomcastdotnet. Offseason contractual decisions are due by the end of November with free agent signings beginning in February, so we're looking to fill the vacancy as soon as possible.
