NL Rising Phoenix is a "root" league. Team 3, the New York Mets and Team 6, the Los Angeles Dodgers, are available. If any of you are Colorado Rockies fans, the owner of that team will take the Dodgers and you can have the Rockies.
Basic Scoresheet rules are used, along with web-based drafting, except as outlined below.
Each Team has all of their draft picks. Team 3 picks first in every round. Team 6 picks 4th in odd rounds and 5th in even rounds.
The basis protection rules are that each team keeps 14 major league players, seven of which must be root players. However, you can keep more than seven root major league players.
Each team is also allowed 15 minor league players, 10 of which must be root players (although you may keep more) and the other five of which may come from any team. There is no loss of late rounds unless you keep more than 15 minor leaguers, or exceed the five non-root minor league limit. Minor league players that came over in mid-season or offseason trades may be protected by the root team for which they will play in 2018.
We also automatically assign the initial two amateur draft picks from the June amateur draft to each root team.
