Looking to start a new National League cap League (600 Million budget)

Teams will have 600 million to spend each season.

Sign players for up to 6 years.

Example of a contract: Sign Greinke for 200 million. Owner then states how many years they want to spread the money out over up to six years.

Buyouts: If you want to release a player before the years on his deal are up, you pay half the salary, but you must have that money available under your cap.

Rookies: Rookies will go auction style to the highest bidder. If you sign a rookie for 5 million, you pay that salary for the first year and then he's free until he loses rookie status. At that point, owners will have the option to sign the rookie for up to four years at his initial auction salary.

Advantages of this league are that there is no need to inflate salaries over the life of a contract. If you sign a guy for 200 million over six years, you pay an equal amount each year. Any remainders are treated as a signing bonus and paid out in the first year of the contract.

I will be using an external website to Scoresheet to run auction drafts and to keep track of rosters. This site will also provide live statistic updates for all players during the week (no need to wait until Friday to see how your guys are doing).

The Auction Draft:
There will be a live auction board where teams can make bids from Monday through mid day Saturday. Then there will be a 24 hour period where all bids are hidden after which all free agents are awarded.

This ensures that nobody can wait until the last minute and sneak in a high bid.

If you are interested in being part of something big, let me know and lets see if we can't get this league off the ground as soon as this season.
