Nationals’ Duo Tough to Top

The Washington Nationals appear to be legitimate contenders in the NL East.

Look no further than their pair of aces on the mound to find the reason why.

Sure, their young phenom outfielder, Bryce Harper, has made the transition to the majors and is performing well, but it’s the dynamic pitching duo that has keyed the team’s success.

Gio Gonzalez and Stephen Strasburg have been about as dominant as any two pitchers in recent memory. No doubt their fantasy owners have enjoyed their seasons so far.

Through June 4th, the two have a combined record of 13-3 and are 1-2 in the National League in strikeouts.
