Hello Its Boise State Calling…
No one Wants to Play Ball
Gene Bleymaier has made an offer to all the top-10 college teams.  And no one cares.  The SEC isn’t listening and neither is Big Ten.  With a high profile and and huge following, Bleymaier theoretically has a lot to offer.
He’s put it out there that Boise State will paly any stadium, in America, against any big name team in 2011.  And the opposing team doesn’t even have to step inside the state of Idaho.  Reciprocation not required.  That’s a pretty charitable offer.  So how come no one has bit yet?  Even with ESPN reminding folks the game would be televised, on their network.
So what’s really the problem here?

What Everyone Knows About Ohio States Coach Tressel

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009
How long will Coach Tressel play Tresselball? As long as he wants! Because no one can touch him! Or is Ohio State waiting for his $3 plus million per year contract to expire?
Coach Tressel must evolve to take Ohio State Football to the Top 5 level. Since he is incapable of this himself, he mustseek outside experience. Even R-Rod hired a defensive coordinator from the NFL. USC and Florida hired NFL experience like USC and Florida did. Not Tressel, because this doesn’t fit in with Tresselball and his ego!
We all know about Tressel’s inept play calling, time management issues, lack of innovation and inability to adjust. Why have we had a poor offensive line the last couple years? Who is responsible for that?
One feather in his scalp is his inability to manage players over the years. They seem to manage him. Pryor is no exception with his Mike Vick paint, the interview and subsequent comments in the press. Pryor’s childish comments in the press did not go unnoticed after the USC and Purdue games. Does he want street cred or respect?
However the latest Tressel miscue is inability to develop the QB position. His solution was to hire a Youngstown State-er as QB Coach, who has little expertise. This “34-year-old whose coaching career includes jobs with Oklahoma (assistant video coordinator), Youngstown State (tight ends), Urbana (offensive coordinator/offensive line) and North Carolina A&T (receivers and quarterbacks).” Reference: http://bit.ly/2nSUSM. Once more Coach Tressel had the opportunity to hire NFL experience but this concept is foreign to Tresselball.
By now Pryor’s development should be light years ahead of freshman QBs at USC and Michigan. Pryor’s poise, mechanics and reads have not changed since he came to Ohio State.
Coach Tressel has proven over and over that his vision is flawed. Tressel has a choice in front of him. He can either be a dictator and continue to loose fan support. Or he can prove to us that he is a manager who deserves $3+ Million per year by: (1) Hiring qualified assistants from the NFL and (2) Giving up direct control over the offense and play calling.
The game has changed since 2002, but Coach Tressell has chosen not to change.

Virginia Tech :: They Have all the Hype

Thursday, October 15th, 2009
All the hype is now on VaTech! Those guys sure can jump, right up to #4! I have been listening to the sports analysts applaud their performances. But my question is: How can Texas be penalized for struggling in first half with Colorado and be dropped? How can your ranking move up to #4 when you: (a) Struggled against Duke, (b) Miami drops to #17 and (c) last two weeks you play unranked teams.
Here is how VaTech has been ranked and moved up:
Preseason #7
Week 1  #14 – Loss to Alabama by 10 points
Week 2  #13 – Win over  Marshall
Week 3  #11 – Win over #19 Nebraska
Week 4   #6  - Win over No. 9 Miami (FL) – Had dropped to #17, now #9
Week 5   #5  - Win over Duke but struggled
Week 6   #4  - Win over Boston College
Seems the sports analysts smoke to much crack to remember that Miami has dropped! When VaTech played Miami, they were #9, now they are #17. Yet no sports analyst thinks about this when vaulting VaTech to #4.
Once more, the sports analysts are on crack!  Looks like they are hyping Boise St and VaTech so they can get blown out in the BCS. My guess this is a slam against the Pac 10 and Big Ten, while they build up the SEC even more.

When the BCS Bowl selections arrive, I hope Va Tech doesn’t play Boise State!  Why?  Because we will never know if they are rated where they should be…or will we?

By the way, don’t get me started on Alabama’s ranking.  They allowed Kentucky to post 20 points.  Let’s see how they fare against LSU on November 7.

Thursday is Must See TV

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Game to watch is Thursday, Cincy at USF.  I live in St Petersburg, Florida where we have record hot temps!  Well, Cincy will be coming down to play in hotter temps Thursday as our cool wave is expected to hit Friday.

I have been following USF because they are everywhere here! They are doing all this with a backup QB. I am impressed. USF is the Rodney Dangerfield of College Football!  No Respect!  But the local community is supporting its USF team – sold out!  The Tampa-St Petersburg area is following them over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
