Scoresheet Hockey, March 31st, 2008
Hi All: Here is the final report (showing your league's championship series) for this
year's fantasy hockey season. No matter how your team did (winning it all, making it
to the playoffs, or even ending up with a losing record), I hope you all had a great
time playing Scoresheet Hockey for the last 6 months, and will be back with us next fall
for another season.
With these games we have also printed complete season-ending league rosters for all of
you, which do include season point totals, and points per NHL game played, for every
player in your league. Before setting aside all of this year's paper work you might
want to take a look at the rosters of the teams with the best won-loss records in your
league to get an indication of what worked for them. There are a lot of different
draft strategies - if you did not have a winning team maybe you can figure out a better
plan for next season. Of course, if you finished at the top then you can plan on
everyone copying your strategies!
If you are a person who believes in 'being prepared', then you might also take a
few minutes and put notes next to guys who had nagging injuries all year, as a
reminder that their value could go way up next year if they stayed healthy.
Next year when the draft packets come out they will include points for every player.
But six months after the season ends it is harder to remember who finished fast or
slow, and all those numbers will show is the totals for the year. I figure that
taking some time to pull comments next to some players now can really help out come
next year's draft.
Next season's Scoresheet Hockey brochures will go out at the end of the summer;
please do let us know if you change addresses before then. Also, we will be saving
the last few week's reports on computer disk for awhile - if a recent week's report
didn't make it to you just let us know, we'll send you another copy.
-------------------------------------------
We do have a web site (www.scoresheet.com). One of the things on this site is a
bulletin board page for team owners who are looking for other owners to form a
league with next year (either one that drafts face to face, or that drafts on-line.)
If you are interested in either joining or forming such a league, please feel free
to post a note on that bulletin board, or respond to someone else's.
Once again, I hope you enjoyed your season of Scoresheet Hockey.
Have a great summer, and see ya next season! - Jeff Barton
