Scoresheet Baseball July 21st, 2008

Hi All: To start this week's notes, I'd like to remind you of what
some of the symbols on your rosters mean: The dash (-) next to certain
players means they either got less than 8 at-bats the previous week in
the majors (for hitters), or had zero innings pitched in the majors (for
pitchers.) Players on your rosters are sorted by season long playing
time, so between that sorting, and use of the dash, we figure you should
be able to get a pretty good idea of how many active players each team
has. Also, on your lineup printed each week at the top of your report, a
* means that player bats/pitches left handed, and the # means he is a
switch hitter.

Web pages are updated every week with the current standings, all
the week's game scoresheets, the various league stat tables, lists of
players who have more playing time than their Scoresheet managers
are utilizing (the trade bait section), etc. If you have lost your league's
address you can go to: www.scoresheet.com/list.html for a list of
links to all our league's web pages.

It is also time once again for my annual note of encouragement to
those of us who are not now in first place. There is still a lot of
baseball left - 10 full weeks remain in the season after this report!
Major League Baseball does see some pretty big leads disappear in the
last 2 months of the summer, and the standings in Scoresheet often
change even faster than in the majors. Even if you are 10 games out,
with 10 weeks left, you only need to pick up one game a week to make
up that difference. And one 6-0 week, combined with a bad week from
those in front of you, could cut that lead in half in just one report!
Also, almost all Scoresheet leagues do have a wild card also making
the playoffs - don't forget to check out where you stand in the wild card
race when trying to decide if you still have a shot at the post-season.

	Have Fun! - Jeff Barton
